Sometimes feelings can be so unpredictable. One day you could be so in love with a person, the next you’re ready to just hoe it out. It happens, we’re human. “Feel” by Lester Rey is the perfect example of unpredictability both sonically and lyrically. In the beginning, the songs entices you with a little bit of slow and sultry; you immediately think it’s another sad boy song. However, the beat suddenly transitions, and the song becomes a mixture of sad boy, a little hip hop, and a smidge of rock & roll. As you listen, it’s clear that Lester isn’t the sad boy here; At first glance, the song could easily be deemed in the “in my feelings” category.
“Feel” is the perfect song to prepare for a break-up. It’s the pregame to the “we need to talk” text. It’s the song you listen to before you give “the it’s not you, it’s me speech”. Moral of the story if you’re in the mood to shed any dead weight, be on your “I’m cutting everybody off”, or you’re simply in the “I don’t give a fuck” mood, this is the song for you.
