In our last post, we predicted bigger and better looks for Tatiana Hazel in 2019, but our December cover star has been attesting to her impending success long before that. Just last year, she released the excellent Toxic EP and its single “Imma Be,” a maximalist pop record full of uplifting rhymes in a simultaneous act of self-manifestation and exercise in accountability, singing: “And I try to stick things out while I figure it out / But I know what I want, I know I’ma get it.

Remezcla premiered the song’s video last week and it’s an on-brand representation of the budding pop star. Director Riley Anton Donavan brings the record’s story to life with superimposed short clips that show Hazel writing, designing and singing all while falling in love. It’s a passage of hued beauty, with a palette that tends towards her teal-painted nails, the multi-colored Lotería cards, and the various outfits she wears (and created).
