Supa Bwe • "Take A Picture" & "Still On Me"
It's been just a little over a month since we last heard from Supa Bwe, and if you're familiar at all with the way in which the Chicago native gets his work out, then you know that's awhile for him. True to form, Supa unleashed a pair of new singles, effectively ending the drought for his cult-like fanbase with the debut of "Take A Picture" and "Still On Me".
While the 2017 release may have been long-awaited, the songs themselves continue to carve out the distinct lane that Supa has been winnowing for himself since blasting onto the scene a few years ago through a variety of projects solo and otherwise. Coming off a hectic 2016 that saw plenty of reorganiztion and many changes for the fast-rising act, these singles let fans know he's never too far from the studio. "Take A Picture" edged out for me as the more intriguing listen, with a helping hand from frequent collaborators Xavier & The Thrill and Sunny Woodz while both tracks seem to find the 27-year-old heading in a sort of slightly, shall we say, sunnier production which stays anchored with the cloudy vocal meanderings of Supa himself. We'll see what come of this year, for now enjoy the latest work.
