Melo Makes Music & Ju • "Murphy's Law" // "I'm Not Okay"
Directed by Mason Adams and Josh Brunelli
Chicago artists Melo Makes Music and Ju seem to be powerful partners in crime. The two are friends working to better their own craft while helping each other grow. Yesterday, both artists released music videos. Consider it a double feature. The first track is "Murphy's Law" from Melo Makes Music, which dropped on SoundCloud at the end of last year. With production from Martin $ky and a feature from Ju, the video does nothing but enhance an already strong single. Showcasing Melo and Ju and company running around Chicago after unleashing something evil, this narrative mixes witchcraft with the occult and the bizarre. Speak words from an ancient text and disrupt your weekend plans. Watch this video twice.

The second piece of our double feature comes in the form of Ju's most recent single, "I'm Not Okay". We covered the single last month and now Ju is back with strong visuals. Again taking on the narrative of running through the Windy City streets (from alleys to train rides), Ju and company (with Melo making plenty of appearances despite not being featured on the track) might even exist inside the same realm of "Murphy's Law". That being said, after his friends have vanished and he's left alone, things begin to get strange. Galactic hallucinations, blurred realities, and concerned street gazers provide a solid switch-up for this video, which appears normal until halfway through. Embrace the weird with this one and be careful with you dap up.
