Lulu Be. • "Rude Tings"
There are certain people around the city who, when they tell you to listen to some, we listen. One of those people is most definitely Chris Classick, owner of Classick Studios and longtime mainstay on the scene who clued us in to one of his latest clients at the renowned recording space, Lulu Be who stepped out this week with the release of her debut single, "Rude Tings" that dropped Tuesday.
This one arrives as a distinctly eclectic piece. Included in recent Classick recommendations that have been funneled straight from the Red & Blue rooms are none other than the likes of Smino, Ravyn Lenae, Monte Booker and while time will tell if Lulu has the chops to hang with the Zero Fatigue crew, this one is a welcome peek into what's to come as the local act plays off her roots, employing African drum patterns amongst an illustrious backing that sets the stage beautifully. Plenty of things in store for the future, for now, get acquainted with Lulu Be. And trust Chris Classick.
