ZenZan • Island Life EP

iPad producer ZenZan is no longer a Chicago resident, but he still remains closely on our radar, as his drops, be it instrumental or collaborative, are almost always full of playback value. Earlier this year, for example, he released a conceptual piece where he crafted beats while watching Indiana Jones on mute. Alongside those instrumentals, you can also find him producing a large chunk of Sunny Woodz's curated hip-hop tracks, featuring an endless stream of strong Chicago hip-hop artists. 

Most recently, the prolific artist paid a visit (sonically) to Hawaii, where he crafted four instrumental beach tunes in the form of Island Life. Sitting alongside ocean waves and exotic luaus, ZenZan managed to relocate his audience with the flip of a switch. Press play and find yourself at a nighttime hog roast, sandals on the shore, and a hammock not too far away. From "Aloha, Honolulu" to "Waikiki Confidential" to "Far Out O'ahu" to "Maui Waui", Island Life is an EP surrounded by sand castles and surfboards, bon fires and the freshest strains in the States.
