Marvelous • "Perfect"
The music has been arriving from all corners of the city, but the west side has been showing out quite a bit as of late and one of our favorites from out that way is definitely Marvelous, who arrives with a down-tempo joint this time around with his new one, "Perfect" that dropped earlier this week with a distinctly soulful undertone. It's a single that continue to speaks to dude's penchant for easily-relatable rhymes that seem to come upon realizations in real time within the bars with lines like "Whoever thought I would grow up to be a rapper".
This one dropped earlier this week and flew a little under my radar for a minute because I wanted to give it a dedicated listen and Marvelous continues to be one of my favorite names on the rise with an attitude and personality to match. The backing here from Flex Lennon which is one of the best names since Chest Rockwell, offers a nice soul-inducing road for which Marvelous lyrically strolls, falling out into a very dope breakdown at the end. It might not be perfect just yet, but dude is certainly on his way to something more in the near future, keeping an eye out for that full-length coming soon? We'll see.
