Supa Bwe • "Jubilee"

Jubilee was self produced, recorded & mixed in my bedroom. (with help from @shepardhues) Dead Again 3 | July 4th [lyrics] I got envy on me dripping, on me dripping On me dripping (x2) Her kisses be feeling like gentle cold, silver & gold (x2) Her name was Jubilee. Met when we were children, now she looking at me different Looking at me look at me You're starling me (x3) Envy on me dripping I got envy on me dripping, on me dripping On me dripping (x2) Her kisses be feeling like gentle cold, silver and gold Her kisses be feeling like Special K, Special K Her name was Jubilee. Met when we were children, now she looking at me different Looking at me look at me You're starling me (x3) I got envy on me dripping, on me dripping On me dripping (x2) Me, me, me, me You should do you Instead of judging me I'ma watch you do you I'ma watch you do you And I'ma do me Look at me You're startling me You should do you You're startling me I wrote Jubilee while climbing out of a deep, mental trench as I had recently went through a fall out with my band (Hurt Everybody) and was losing/pushing people away who were very, very important to me. My brothers, our acquaintances, my girlfriend and even my own family. It's a song explaining what it feels like to be able to watch yourself grow and develop in real time. It's a song about liberating myself through forgiveness & living out this extraordinary year of Jubilee in a way that's healthier for me. It's a song about struggling with the idea of letting my partner go and continuing life without her after a very intense, six year bond. This is the year of the "Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy" as declared by Pope Francis, and although I'm not a religious man, I'm familiar with the bible & have always been fascinated with the concept of the Jubilee because of its themes of liberation & forgiveness because those two aspects of human nature are imperative to growth, which I'm dedicating myself to. During Jubilee "slaves and prisoners would be freed, debts would be forgiven, and the mercies of God would be particularly manifest" which is what I feel happening inside of me, right now. Supa Bwe's 2016 has been complicated, but he's put these demons into song as everything went down, allowing his extremely loyal fan-base to grow even closer to the gifted artist, tearing apart what ever wall existed between his own thoughts and the outside world. This may be the secret to Supa's success - listen closely and pretty soon you're going to feel like you know the guy. Absolutely insane performances like clockwork don't hurt either.

The song, which will be on Supa's upcoming Dead Again 3 (out July 4) covers a siren named Jubilee, representing the passage of time and the change in people that comes with. As Supa Bwe puts it, "I wrote "Jubilee" while climbing out of a deep, mental trench, as I had recently went through a fall out with my band (Hurt Everybody) and was losing/pushing people away who were very, very important to me...It's a song about liberating myself through forgiveness & living out this extraordinary year of Jubilee in a way that's healthier for me." This track brings the softer side of Supa, a moment for self-reflection and that ethereal singing we all know and love.

We mentioned Supa Bwe's raucous performances? He's got one tonight, opening for Logan Cage along with Warhol.SS, Femdot, Pat App and more. Concert is all ages and thrown by Ovrlrd, tickets here. And if you haven't heard, you can be looking forward to a new trio called 'Fight Me' in the very near future.
