Phoelix (Ft. Saba) • "BUDDHA"

Producer and vocalist Phoelix is a relatively new figure in the Chicago music realm, but he's recently been making serious strides to become a household name. After releasing the five song project FirsTrip as part of his duo with MDMC (with El.), he went on to produce “All I Need” by Noname Gypsy and SPZRKT as well as Saba's newest single “Soap Box”. 

In the between time, he's been releasing solo material, like the four song EP ingénu which dropped last month, and now, the single “Buddha” with Saba. With production assistance from Jasper MacRae, this four minute monster is an auto-tuned bass fiend. Phoelix vibes over the instrumentation, asking, “Why you go so far away from me?” while Saba provides one of his strongest guest verses in recent memory, exploding with lines like, “I'm trapped inside my mind but I'm on my way to freedom.” This song is very flammable.
