Sheep Boys • Ghost, Goblins, and Ghouls (Demos)
"A whole lotta fun outside of writing papers" is how one man group Sheep Boys describes his music. A student, that much is known. Age unknown, grade unknown. He talks about fake IDs, so I imagine he's underage. With Ghost, Goblins, and Ghouls, we get three demos, all acoustic and lofi. Stripped down bedroom creations. Given the hashtag "cellphone", I can only assume that these recordings were done with the loyal Voice Memo app. At one point, Sheep Boys aka Will mutters and mumbles about bringing a loaf of bread on a date in order to feed geese. Love is real.
"Caramel Latte" is a bare boned love song, one that feels like the intro that it is. "Back and Fourth" has dueling guitars that follow along with Sheep Boys' confessions. The last song, "It's Cool", is the most energized and reverberated of the three. Not quite punk, but more garage sounding than the others. At seven minutes, it's an interesting series of tracks, all of which have given me enough to anticipate a proper release. I can't really find much else from Sheep Boys on the internet, but hopefully we hear more than these three initial demos.
