Sir Michael Rocks • "In My Mode"
Directed By P0INT AND SH00T
Following his recent return from Japan, Sir Michael Rocks released the playful visuals for the opening track off of September's LP, Populair. The eight song project is still getting plays around these parts and this visual (the fifth from the project) does nothing but enhance that already strong experience. In the video, which is directed by P0INT AND SH00T (Chicago's own Jimmy Regular and George), Mr. Rocks battles a shirtless madman in the streets of Toyko. Combining Double Dragon with Mortal Kombat, the video is a fine sequel to Rocks' "Perfect", a video that dropped back in August and which takes direct inspiration from Street Fighter.
Sir Michael Rocks has always been one to do things his own way and the newest video "In My Mode" is yet another notch on his originality belt. If you need more, be sure to peep his video for "Quality Time Lapse", which was also filmed in Japan, which was also directed by P0INT AND SH00T, and which was released at the end of October. Lastly, shouts out to designer Stefan Meier (aka RIP Everything) for playing the sunglass wearing madman who gets merked at the end of the video.
