Looking Ahead • Trap Rave @ Reggies Rock Club 10/30
Hustle Simmons returns with another Trap Rave, a subsidiary of his Hustlepalooza brand that originated last year in Austin TX for SXSW. Throwing events in Austin, New York, and Chicago, Hustle's Trap Raves have hosted performances from Migos, A$AP Mob, Dave East and more.
Returning home to Chicago, Trap Rave sizes up Reggies for its next big party featuring OG Maco, ShowYouSuck, and Chicago veteran Big Homie. DJ Oreo, Ozone, Chante, and Evie The Cool provide the backdrop for the evening and keep the party going. Making a name for himself with his single "U Guessed It" alongside Key!, Atlanta's OG Maco his since enjoyed a roller coaster start to his music career. Shortly after his breakthrough onto the national scene, Maco's relationship and Key! quickly deteriorated. OG Maco went on to sign with Quality Control and Coach K, the label and individual behind success stories like the Migos, Young Jeezy, and Gucci Mane. While OG Maco's debut Children of the Rage is still in the works, the southern bred hit maker continues to be one of the hardest working out by dropping more than a handful of EPs this year, has another full length mixtape on the way, and has even recently been releasing new music with Key! again. Maco's got a catalog to get through, you won't want to miss this Halloween eve performance.
Chicago support on the bill is our good friend ShowYouSuck, Big Homie, and others, so make sure to get to Reggies plenty early. OG Maco's trap influence and ShowYouSuck's Zelda influence may seem like like a mismatch, but I've seen Show win over the most stubborn crowds with his energy and persistence. If there is one person I know that can earn the respect of a crowd, it's absolutely ShowYouSuck. In fact, Show in a sense got started winning over crowds at Reggies. When asked about how he felt returning to the south side Chicago venue, Show said "I haven't played there in almost two years and it was where I had my first sold out show, so I'm stoked to be returning." With Show's One Man Pizza Party 5 remains without a release date, there's a chance you may have the pleasure of hearing some new music from that project. At the very least you can look forward to a healthy mix of screaming and love.
Get a ticket now through our Events page and save $5. Doors open at 9pm and there is plenty of good music to be heard, so make sure to get their early!
