MANWOLVES • "8:38"
Mr. Sandman, come on by. Chicago band MANWOLVES may have stayed under your radar until now, but with a silky track like this to start your morning, there’s a chance they could become as routine as coffee. The song is called “8:38” and it’s a seriously impressive track, finding perfect balance between samples, percussion, bassist, and a muted trumpet that cuts through like a knife. Just as significant as the trumpeter is the lead vocalist, wearily singing as he looks for some rest. The track is about starting your morning the right way, something that I find very inspirational right now. Ending with a particularly crunchy guitar solo that someone in MANWOLVES shreds, you can think of it as that moment the caffeine kicks in, or maybe when the wake and bake starts elevating. Make an effort to stay up on MANWOLVES, and give their most excellently titled track “These Days” a listen as well.
