Golden (Ft. Donnie Trumpet) • "Rain Dance"
The wave is too real! While I may sound like a broken record on these blog posts, you'll have to excuse me. As the local scene has developed we've been showered with talented new music on a seemingly daily (hourly) schedule. Today though, it appears that shower got a bit thicker thanks in part to a "Rain Dance" from two local heavy-hitters in Mike Golden and Donnie Trumpet, two longtime collaborators that come together for the latest single from the former in the lead up to his upcoming project, Be A Better Person.
The single is the first we've heard from Indiana's finest, Mr. Golden but he arrives here riding the wave that began with SURF last year, a project he participated in, singing a spirited verse on "Go" that seemed to re-align his creative flow. Since then, he's been a regular in cross-city studio sessions, Stix's Jam Night and much more when he's not opening for Ludacris. Fittingly, he links up here once again with Nico Segal, who himself has been putting in that good work as of late, earlier today Raury dropped his own collab with the man now known for his iconic trumpet. Get into the track yourself above and blame Mike and Nico for the soggy August we're having. If you really like it you can catch it live next week at the Double Door for Mike's album release show with Kelechi and Ric Wilson.
