Jaro • "Unlike You"
Jaro is a producer tapped deep within the heart of the Chicago underground. He's provided a significant amount of material for the quartet Beach Jesus (of which he is one of the four members), including the most recent EP This Time Last Year. As well as helping us with our recent Tokens compilation, he's also produced alongside plenty of up and coming names like Elias Abid, Cae Jones, Lasko, Walkingshoe, and more. Look out for much more around the corner, down the road, around the way.
Despite his computer full of instrumentals and his daily regiment of beat making, Jaro hasn't released a “solo” piece in quite some time. That all changed late night on Saturday when he released the song “unlike you”. Complete with original instrumentation, the song flips the vocals from a Bow Wow and Ciara song (wtf?), the end result being incredibly hynotizing, bouncing you through a dripping waterfall of transitional zones, dancing between winter and spring, with the snow fading, the sunshine returning, with Jaro giving you a taste of what he has planned for the remainder of the season and beyond. Don't sleep. "Cause I ain't neva had nobody do me like you."
