Ali (of New Kingz) (Ft. Dougy & Wil Akogu) • "DIE4U"
There's a thing that's referred to as a weekly news cycle. It comes and goes and if you're lucky, you make it to the next one. A way of keeping your name in that systemic turnaround is to stay busy, and Ali of New Kingz has certainly been doing just that. Over the course of the last couple months there has been perhaps no other name that has popped up with as much frequency on the site this side of Chance.
Ali does his damndest on this track with production coming from Will Akogu and an accompanying verse from DOUGY. This one takes on a more airy, abstract feel from the get go that continues to play to dude's ability to handle himself over a wide-ranging assortment of sounds and production. On "DIE4U" Ali explores the more intricate, deep thought feelings of not understanding one's place or what's to come. Keeping pace on a heavy flow over texturized guitar line, dude delivers up a breathless glance at dealing with a significant other in the darker days of that time together. The whole thing breaks down into a really dope latter half as well that makes the whole thing easy to get lost in. Ali and the New Kingz have been impressing all year, here's yet another.
