Lud Foe (Ft. Lil Durk) • "Cuttin Up"
Lud Foe's delivery is concrete, a grim mentality in his music to accompany a flow that lives between a rock and a hard place. His is a confidence that seems to be aware of the fact that at this point, if he builds it, the fans will come. He's grabbed eyes since his nihilistic joy ride with Cago Leek "Fell In Love", and has recently had the city bumpin' to his anthem "Cuttin Up". You can hear the west-side in it, the drums and movement of bop and dance peppered throughout.
Now Lil Durk has jumped on the track for quite the cosign. Lil Durk's GBE / OTF movement from 4-plus years ago had a lot more buzz but came from a similar place, and with the dubious Vice-y voyeurism no longer being the rage it once was, Lud Foe's music is the only thing that matters here. As it should be. Durk is a man of many flows, and he uses my favorite of his here; rhythmic yet choppy, slightly sing-song-y and a little pissed off. "Cuttin Up" has had legs, its shelf life just got longer and, for those paying attention, the window for ignoring Lud Foe has been closed.
