The ASA Project • "Little Lady"
Last night I had the chance to sit down with Stefan Ponce as part of Bucketfeet's "Artist Talks" series and one of the more interesting points that came up was the sort of impact Ponce's "Down On My Luck" single with Vic Mensa had on opening a vein for house-centric hip-hop and it's impossible not to have that in mind when listening to The A.S.A. Project who return from a months-long hiatus to drop their latest single, "Little Lady" in the middle of this week.
The three-piece collective has been a TheseDays favorite since stepping out last year and been regulars on the radio show and podcasts. Throughout that time the growth has been easy ti spot and here the guys ruminate on the idea of scaling the game back a bit with a significant other and, "taking it slow" over a fast-paced backing production that calls to mind the confluence of rap and house sounds. Pop leaning for sure, "Little Lady" builds on the group's recent releases and continues to lace us with some easy party music for any occasion. Check out the new one from The A.S.A. Project above.
