Chief Keef • "Faneto"
Directed by JR Saint
Chief Keef's "Faneto" lit up headphones, speakers and nightlife in 2014-2015, and the wait for the visual was a doozy but is finally over. "Faneto" came off of Chief Keef's Back From The Dead 2 mixtape, released in October 2014, and at the time his biggest drop since Finally Rich. Mixed almost entirely by Sosa himself, the project's production was a complete departure at the time while still true to the spirit of his music. Chief Keef moved away from the huge Young Chop beats and towards a smaller but similarly driving approach. This was a project where each track had momentum, "Faneto" and "Wayne" being the best examples and highlights of the mixtape (yeah, the "Wayne" video came out a year ago). Despite the changes of the project, fans embraced it and Back From The Dead 2 enjoyed a loyal following for its darker, left-field approach. The "Faneto" video gives us a worthy addition to the project, even if time has removed some of the drop's luster. But if you want to watch Chief Keef get wild and throw back to one of the most exciting tracks out of Chicago in the last couple years, this is the place to be.
