Pellican Child • "Turn Me Down"
Last month Chicago DJ/producer duo Louis The Child sold out two back to back shows at the Metro on the city's north side. Combine that with equally packed afterparties at both Smart Bar and Soho House, and it was quite a full week for LTC and their fans. Prior to their set on Friday night in front of a very large all ages crowd, LTC had New Orleans native Pell join the festivities as their direct support. I was in attendance that night, but unfortunately missed all of Pell's set. I did catch the encore performance though when Pell joined LTC at the end of their set to preview some new music they had been working on.
During the live performance of "Turn Me Down", today's new single, LTC and Pell informed us and the rest of the crowd that the trio weren't just working on a song, but a collection of songs we'd hear sometime in the future. Well, the future is now, at least partially as Pellican Child is born with the official release of "Turn Me Down". A fun and bouncy single, this drop certainly sets a positive tone for the rest of the project. With all parties known for their uplifting content, this pairing seems to be a perfect match. More soon, but start with "Turn Me Down".
