Bandman Kevo • "Afford It" & "Where Was You At"

Bandman Kevo has been filling the streets in the new year and has been popping up with increased frequency after the Chicago Tribune reported that he was facing 30 years in jail over a card cracking scheme, and somehow it seems to all be working out. For his part, Bandman doesn't seem to be losing any sleep over the charges and flexes appropriately both in his now somewhat traditional house video and follow up single that arrived right on the heels of the less positive news alongside SquadMoney and C-Sick.

Featured prominently in the description of the song is this proclamation: "AFTER RECENT "RUMORS" OF JAIL TIME...KEVO DENIES AND DROPS ANOTHER HIT!!!!!!"

Bandman will likely find a way out of his latest predicament as he has others and I'll bet he'll have on something shiny and new when he does. 

Daryn Alexus • "Then Again"

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. That certainly seems to be the approach from Daryn Alexus and producer Dee Lilly. The two have been nearly inseparable almost as long as they've been making music, and with each release you can hear them improving as a team. With additional guitar provided by Austin Farris, this is a Dee Lilly produced and Chris Classick mixed. Dive into "Then Again" and second guess major life decisions with Daryn Alexus. 

Goody • "Party"

Making his These Days debut, Chicago rapper Goody presents us with "Party". Sampling Lil Kim's 1997 release "Crush on You", Goody crafts up a smooth one perfect for your next social function. After listening through more of his work on SoundCloud, Goody and go-to producer 1stfrom92 prove to be getting better with each new release. With his debut project 21 (To Anyone) in the works, we're excited to hear what else Goody's got in store for us.

The Palmer Squares • "Liev Schreiber"

What can't you say about The Palmer Squares. The most lowkey successful act in Chicago, this dup has been around for a mnute with Stank Face Records, pumping out fun, upbeat singles that often come packaged with a dope, conceptual visual to match. This latest offering is no different. "Liev Schreiber" comes as a New Year's gift to fans from Acumental and Terminal Knowledge offer up straight bars throughout with the city skyline featured prominently in the background.

Westside Flee • "Rap City: Tha Basement"

One the more welcome acts to rise from the crowded west side over the last year or so was Westside Flee who's single "Zack Morris" stayed in my head weeks and months after dropping and has gotten some play on TheseDays Radio as a result. Dude has a true steez unto himself that is making it increasingly easier to choose him out of a collection of tracks. On this one, he utilizies his slowly increasing drum patterns once again to create a sort of nostalgic single that recalls the days of Big Pooh and Rap City: Tha Basement. He's just "focusing on the music" for now though.
