Freddie Gibbs • "Fuckin' Up the Count"
Directed by Jonah Schwartz
Acclaimed rapper Freddie Gibbs actually hails from Gary, IN, but we still consider him to be a (very) east side Chicago artist. Gangsta Gibbs changed the game last year when he joined forces with iconic producer Madlib for the stand-out album Piñata. With plenty of loose singles and EPs scattered since, Gibbs is finally prepping his proper full-length follow-up with Shadow of a Doubt, arriving on November 20. The album boasts features from E-40, Gucci Mane, Black Thought, and more, and will most likely sound more like ESGN (so slept on) than Piñata.
Acting as the first single to Shadow of a Doubt, Gibbs gives us the video for "Fuckin' Up the Count", where he's seen as the lead in the short film directed by Jonah Schwartz (who did all of the video work for Piñata). Produced by Boi-1da, this is one hell of a lead single, and one hell of a reminder that if you're about to pay Freddie Gibbs, you better give him the proper amount.
