Local indie label Closed Sessions has become known for being an outfit that uses their experience and resources in the music industry to place Chicago artists they enjoy on a platform to better position those artists to be heard. Before becoming "the label", the Closed Sessions' founders Alex Fruchter and Mike Kolar paid their dues as products of a Chicago hip hop world before it became the scene it is today. Today, Closed Sessions links with fellow Chicago hip hop pioneer DJ Rude One, to release his first song in over a decade called "Mr. Goodbar" featuring Brooklyn native Your Old Droog.

Rude One made a name for himself as a DJ and curator of The Goodness, a reoccurring party that brought together some promising local DJ's as well as national names like Alchemist, Black Milk, DJ Babu, and many more. In addition to his work behind the decks, Rude was also a part of production duo Single Minded Pros, which went on to drop one proper album back in 2004 called From Now OnThe Single Minded Pros have since disbanded and The Goodness hasn't opened its doors in some time, but DJ Rude One isn't quite done with influencing the Chicago music community.

Teaming with Closed Sessions, Rude One is preparing his first solo project ever titled "ONEderful", and we're hearing the first from that today. Jumping back into the producer ring, Rude One has been able to tap into the his and Closed Sessions' networks to enlist the likes Your Old Droog, Roc Marciano, Westside Gunn and more on this new project. "Mr Goodbar" is just the introduction, but the rest can be heard sometime at the top of 2016. Listen to the track up top and enjoy a short documentary below for a behind the scenes look into the song's creation.
