Louis The Child Assisted Track from The Chainsmokers Hits No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100
A collaboration from NYC producer/DJ duo The Chainsmokers and pop-singer Halsey have sky rocketed to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, with a little help from a rising Chicago talent. Frederic Kennett, one half of Chicago producer/DJ duo Louis The Child is one of three writers who crafted the track. The track originally came together during a session between Freddy Kennett and The Chainsmokers Andrew Taggart. Louis The Child tweeted their support soon after the news broke.
Additionally, the track also currently tops the Billboard Dance/Electronic Charts, moving from No. 3 to No. 1 this week. The track is also the first Top 10 charting song for Halsey, who contributes strong harmonies throughout the track. The track position brings "Closer" from No. 9 to No. 5 on the Billboard Charts. "Closer" is just the second track to have topped both Hot Dance/Electronic Songs and the Hot 100. The first being Baauer's "Harlem Shake" in 2013.
